The Limmat Foundation strives above all to help people help themselves. It specializes primarily in the education of educators according to the motto: “If you teach a fisherman to teach others to fish, you feed a community for life.”
The Limmat Foundation is convinced that a good education is the key to effective development and a long-term social investment in the coming generation. This is evident above all in the case of women from developing countries, who, with a solid education, can contribute to the economic well-being of their families. The resulting self-confidence also strengthens their relationships with their husbands, which in turn benefits their families and the society. It is also certain that a woman who has learned to read and write will not let her children fail to acquire these abilities.
Emphasis is placed on vocational education, on the education of local educators, and on the education of women.
Good training is the key for effective development.
